Speaker: Monica Cowlishaw serves as the Manager of the Create Our Energy Future Business Operations for Seattle City Light. In this role she manages the planning, analysis, financial and resource management, project governance, forecasting, contracting and other related processes to ensure coordinated execution of Create Our Energy Future work across the utility by coordinating with matrixed teams. She has a BA in Journalism with a Public Relations emphasis from Western Washington University and more than 15 years of utility experience, where she served much of that time leading a multi million-dollar energy efficiency program for a regional utility. In that role she was responsible for the program from planning to implementation to outreach, stakeholder relations, marketing, reporting and regulatory compliance.
Abstract: Seattle City Light is well along the pathway toward an electrified future, and despite having a 96% carbon free baseload we have a long way to go to meet our collective goals. As a utility provider we’re embracing the transition opportunities ahead, while recognizing our role has shifted from simply keeping the lights on to powering much more in our daily lives through partnerships, equity, grid modernization, and transportation and building electrification.
