2019 Outstanding Engineer of the Year Award to Carrie Smith

Carrie Ann Smith is an Electrical Design Engineer at Stryker. She works to enhance state-of-the-art medical technology. She completed her undergraduate degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a minor in computer science (Magna Cum Laude) from Seattle University, where she served as the chair for Tau Beta Pi the engineering honor society, president and charter member of IEEE HKN honor society, and chair of IEEE.

I have worked in the electric power industry for 15 years, the majority of that time with Puget Sound Energy. I have worked as a planning engineer and a smart grid engineer in addition to my current role as a reliability strategist.

2018 Outstanding Engineer of the Year Award to Casey Harman

Casey is a Power Plant Electrical and Controls Engineer at Puget Sound Energy. His current work includes generator protection, power system stability model verification and NERC compliance. He also has a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Idaho.

2016 Outstanding Engineer of the Year Award to Sarah Davis

Sarah Davis works at Puget Sound Energy as an Electrical Engineer. Over the past several years, she held various positions including transmission and distribution Protection Engineer, Energy Delivery Engineer, and currently, she is a senior engineer in the Transmission Policy and Contracts team. Sarah is a talented Young Engineer who has made a significant impact in various capacities at PSE. Sarah graduated from UW with a degree BSEE and later earned her MSEE from the same university. She is an IEEE Member and a judging coordinator for the Washington Future City competition.
