With 7 years in the energy industry, Louis Tibbs is an outstanding early-career contributor to power engineering and the community. He is a Senior Engineer in the Substation Protection group at Puget Sound Energy. At Puget Sound Energy he is a mentor, trainer and recruiter for our industry. Followup: South Sound Young Professionals Social

The event at Katie Downs in Tacoma was an enjoyable time. We had 8 RSVPs and 6 attendees. All attendees were from Tacoma South.  Due to the nice weather Katie Downs had an influx of customers so it was a little loud, and it took them a bit to get our table but it was enjoyable. Followup: Young Professionals Informal Meetup Seattle

The IEEE YP informal social was successful. A dozen people signed up but only half attended. Despite the low number of attendees, the group was very diverse  – utility, consulting, manufacturing, small business, and the Army Core of Engineers.  We had some excellent group discussions including preparation for the PE license, impact of electric vehicles on the grid, the practical use of alternative energy, and the future direction of the Energy industry in the United States.
